The Much Anticipated First Oral Book Report

When Aidan decided that he wanted to read Spiderwick for his first grade book report, we were a little concerned because this is a very advanced book. Lots of big words, some of which I did not know (although, of course, Jason learned 6,000 words when studying for the GRE so he's our human dictionary). My only stipulation was that for any book Aidan reported on, he had to read every word himself. I figured he may not completely get all of it and we may have to read it to him a second time, but he had to read all of it himself. And he did. Night after night, he read 5-10 pages of the 118 page book in order to finish in time for the book report.
