Aidan is definitely a swimmer now. Yesterday we had a full day outside with Grandpa. As the rest of us tooled around the backyard and swam a bit, Aidan would swim a while, run around the yard, then hop back in the pool. He swam all around the pool, even in the deep end. He needs some practice with different strokes and distance, but he's able to swim to safety with ease. A couple of times he even jumped in the deep end in order to swim out to get his football that accidentally landed in the pool. I'm so relieved. It's scary to own a pool with a kid who is unable to swim! And we were so happy to have that pool yesterday when it was 100 degrees...was I the one who complained about ending up with a pool?
Today Aidan skipped summer camp to go with his Grandpa and Daddy to the canyon. Grandpa leaves this evening and we will miss him, but Nana will be arriving on Friday for nine days. Aidan cannot wait to show off his mad swimming and piano skills.
