Potties and Socks

Yesterday Aidan brought home a paper that said he'd pooped in the potty at school (not sure why he chooses to poop but not pee in the potty but I think it might be a muscle control issue based on watching him try). We were very excited for him and although I'd already made dinner, we told him that we'd take him to eat anywhere he wanted to go. You see, whenever one of us has a big accomplishment at work we go out to eat. That's just what we do. We figured we would do the same for our boy. Of course, he wanted to go to McDonald's. Dinner went into the fridge and off we went!

We always see kids he knows there. First we saw a kid from his class but they were leaving, so we only said hello. Then we ran into a kid from our old playgroup in the play area. They had a good time playing together so we invited him over on Friday to play, which will also give his parents a night out. Then next time they'll do the same. It's a win/win.

After getting back home and ready for bed, Aidan started losing it about his socks. They were a little loose and would slide down a little. We've all had that happen and it's somewhat uncomfortable. Aidan didn't deal well. He'd start crying and screaming for us to fix his socks. He woke us up three times to pull his socks up! Jason said that on the third time he finally just said, "Mommy doesn't have her socks on. Let's take them off." (He likes for everyone in the house to have the same shoe/sock status at all times and will demand that you take your shoes off when you walk in if everyone else has their shoes off.) From now on he's wearing tighter socks to bed.
