Last night we had the opportunity to visit Noonie Joy after dinner. Aidan was so excited that he wanted to (of course) take his bat and balls. After Jason helped with a few things inside, we all went out to the driveway so that Aidan could show Noonie Joy his baseball abilities. I think Aidan had a great time showing off and Noonie Joy seemed to have a lot of fun watching him hit the balls into the bushes and over the fence.
As he waits for the pitch and nods his head to signal that he's ready, he gets this determined look on his face. He holds it until the bat meets the ball and then he smiles wide as the ball sails out in front of him. It's that look and the joy he obviously gets from a good hit that keeps us pitching balls to him as often as we can.
Today was the last day in the 2 year old class. Next week he moves to the new classroom and he brought home a red ribbon that read, "Baseball Star." As I was admiring it and asking Aidan all about it, Jason told me that the teacher had reported that there were 3 sports ribbons given out for baseball, basketball, and soccer. She admitted that Aidan may have brought home all three but felt they should spread them out a little bit so that it wouldn't look like they were playing favorites or something. Besides, we don't need ribbons to know that our Aidan is the best!
